Lux Aeterna is a first-person interactive experience currently being developed within the Unreal Development Kit. The goal is to evoke emotional responses from players via dramatic lighting, dynamic music, iconic set pieces, and an intentionally cryptic story that centers on the human condition. Players must reach the light at the top of a loomingtower, but along the way they must activate seven different pillars of light, solve symbolic puzzles, avoid obstacles, and gradually discover vague fragments of their broken reality.
I am modeling, lighting, and scripting the entire experience using Maya, the Unreal Development Kit ( EU3 with Kismet), ZBrush, Photoshop, and Modo. For this particular project, I'm concentrating on crafting a structured experienced specifically focused on lighting and environment/level design. Therefore, most of the current assets shown in the pictures below are the ones provided by UDK. As the project moves out of its concept stages, these assets will be systematically replaced by my own custom models and textures.
